Privacy and Disclosure

How GestaClara handles information, written for patients, families, and the clinicians who may share the course.

The short version

  • You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number.
  • We do not ask for health information. Please do not type any on this site.
  • The reflection questions in each lesson are only for you. GestaClara does not collect or see your answers.
  • Feedback is optional. We do not ask for your name or contact details.
  • We do not show ads, use advertising trackers, or sell information.

For patients and families

What GestaClara is

GestaClara is a patient education course about high-risk pregnancy and Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) care. It is made by YAVIRA LLC, a Virginia company. We are not a doctor's office, hospital, or health plan, and nothing you do here becomes part of your medical record.

What we collect

Our feedback database is designed to store only the optional multiple-choice answers and the submission date (UTC, without a time of day). Cloudflare may separately process technical information to operate and secure the website.

We may collect

  • Whether a lesson was helpful: Yes, Somewhat, or No.
  • Ratings for how easy and useful the lessons were, and whether you would return.
  • Which lesson helped most.
  • Whether you are a patient, family member, healthcare professional, or other.
  • The calendar date (UTC) on which feedback was submitted, without the time of day.

We do not ask for

  • Your name, email, phone number, or address.
  • Your date of birth or medical record number.
  • Anything about your own pregnancy, health, or test results.
  • Your clinic or doctor.
  • Your precise location.

No written comments

The pilot uses multiple-choice feedback only. There is no free-text comment field.

Retention

Our intended retention period for individual feedback is 90 days. Automatic deletion is not yet configured. Until a verified cleanup process is operating, we cannot guarantee deletion at 90 days. We may retain aggregate counts that do not identify individual submissions after the individual records are deleted.

What we do with feedback

We use it to make the lessons clearer. We may share summary results with clinics that offer GestaClara, such as the share of people who found the lessons easy to understand. Small groups are combined so no one can be picked out. We never sell feedback.

Tracking

  • No advertising, social media pixels, or tools that follow you across other sites.
  • We do not store IP addresses with your feedback.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website and may process technical data, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site. We do not attach these records to feedback in our application database. Review Cloudflare settings and retention before launch.
  • We use system fonts; the website does not load Google Fonts.

If you email us, we will see your email address. Please do not include health details. We use your message only to reply. Our address is hello@gestaclara.com.

Not medical advice

GestaClara explains general information. It cannot diagnose, treat, or tell you what your own results mean. Your healthcare team can do that. If you are worried about symptoms, contact your regular OB-GYN or pregnancy care team.

For clinicians and partners

What we are and are not

GestaClara provides general education. It is not a healthcare provider and does not provide care, so it is not part of any patient's record. GestaClara does not ask for or accept patient health information, and we do not describe ourselves as “HIPAA compliant.” We avoid collecting patient health information at all.

What we ask of partner clinics

  • Do not send us patient names, contact details, referral lists, test results, or any other protected health information.
  • Share the course by link, QR code, or handout. We do not need a patient list or a connection to your records system.
  • Tell patients that using the course and giving feedback are optional.

What partners receive

Summary results only, such as ratings and counts by lesson. Partners do not receive individual responses or comments.

Where your practice differs

The lessons describe common practice. Clinics differ in after-hours contacts, patient portals, interpreter services, and who explains results. Where your clinic does something differently, your instructions come first. The lessons say so and encourage patients to ask their team.

Data handling

  • Responses are stored without names, accounts, or IP addresses.
  • Feedback responses include only a calendar date, not an exact submission time. We intend to delete individual responses after 90 days. This cleanup is not yet scheduled and must be enabled and verified before describing it as automatic.
  • We do not sell data or use it for advertising.
  • We do not offer free-text fields or request medical information.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date below. We will not use feedback in a new way without updating this page first.
