Hello, I'm the person behind GestaClara
I'm a registered diagnostic medical sonographer with more than 17 years in diagnostic ultrasound, including more than 15 years specializing in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM). I've spent those years in the scan room and alongside MFM specialists, obstetricians, and care teams, with patients on some of the hardest days of their pregnancies.

Why I started GestaClara
Patients rarely have enough time to get every question answered. Appointments move quickly, and many people leave with questions they carry home with them.
GestaClara is a place to hear about the things you may want to know, or wonder about, at your own pace and in plain language.
What I believe
- Information empowers patients. When you understand why a test is done and what comes next, you can take part in your care.
- Understanding lets you be present. Knowing what to expect can help you focus on your pregnancy and worry less.
- Your questions belong in the room. They are always welcome, and the lessons help you ask them.
How the lessons were prepared
I wrote the lessons and reviewed them against my knowledge of the principles and practice standards of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), and against what I see in clinical practice. GestaClara is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by AIUM or any other organization.
